Phyna questions Blessing CEO’s son’s death, demands proof before condolences
Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has questioned reports surrounding the reported death of Blessing CEO’s son, saying she would not offer her condolences until she was convinced that the news was genuine.
Phyna made the remarks during a livestream while reacting to reports that Blessing CEO had lost her second son, Bryan, while she remained in custody in Lagos.
In a video shared online, the reality TV star expressed disbelief over the reported loss and questioned how the public was expected to sympathise with Blessing CEO without what she considered sufficient proof.
Phyna went as far as asking Blessing CEO to provide a photograph of the deceased child, saying she did not want to offer condolences only for the situation to later turn out to be untrue.
Her comments have since generated reactions across social media, with the issue becoming another point of controversy surrounding the reported death.
The controversy followed reports that Blessing CEO’s second son, Bryan Onyedikachi, had died while she was in custody.
The initial announcement was made publicly by Amira Agiye, the CEO of the Isaamira Love Foundation, who also appealed for financial support on behalf of Blessing CEO.
Blessing CEO later confirmed the death in a phone conversation with actress Doris Ogala. She said her son had died while she was in custody and expressed a desire to be released so she could pay her respects.
However, Blessing also distanced herself from the fundraising appeal associated with the announcement.
According to reports of the conversation, she said she had not authorised anyone to solicit money on her behalf and maintained that she should be the person to officially announce her son's death.
It was against this background that Phyna questioned the report and Blessing CEO’s credibility.
Phyna said:
“Blessing CEO, how do you want us to believe you lost your child? How can we sympathise with you? You will need to post the dead body. I can’t waste my condolences. This is why it is not good to be lying too much.”
The statement has attracted criticism from some social media users, while others have pointed to the long-running controversies involving both women as part of the reason for the latest clash.
