Nigerian online streamer and content creator Peller has said some of the money sprayed on him during his wedding to Jarvis turned out to be counterfeit dollar notes.

In a video shared Monday, he said the naira notes he received were confirmed genuine at the bank, but some of the dollar bills handed to him were fake.

"I went to the bank, and the Nigerian money was genuine... When they came, I saw them. They gave me fake money. I got home, I was feeling like a millionaire and used the money to make a video. 'Hello, hello,' and then I realised it was fake. I can't talk," he said.

He said he only discovered the fake notes after getting home, and questioned the tradition of spraying money altogether, asking, "Is it by force to spray money?"

The comments follow days of attention on Peller and Jarvis's wedding, which drew a string of lavish gifts, including a ₦400 million Abuja mansion from real estate mogul King Ochacho.
