“If I have erred, I am sorry” – Desmond Elliott apologises to Femi Gbajabiamila
Lagos State lawmaker Desmond Elliott has publicly apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
The actor-turned-politician made the apology while speaking to journalists after picking up his nomination form for re-election in 2027. Elliott represents Surulere Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“Our leader is a compassionate leader. A leader of thought. We are children. Children sometimes err. If I have erred in any way, my leader, I am sorry. Give me another chance, and let’s move on, and let’s bring more dividends of democracy to the people,” he said.
Elliott added that Gbajabiamila had not accused him of any wrongdoing. He stressed that he was apologising just in case he had erred.
He also dismissed reports that the Surulere Accountability Forum rejected his bid for a fourth term. Elliott described the claims as mere political propaganda and said he only came to declare his intention to the CDA.
The lawmaker defended his desire to return for a fourth term. He argued that his experience in the legislature would bring more benefits to his constituents.
