Skit maker and actress Taaooma says her mother and African parents generally are her biggest wellspring of content ideas.

Speaking to TheCable in an interview shared on X on Monday, Taaooma explained that she rarely runs dry creatively because inspiration is always close to home. She pointed to the everyday habits of African parents as material she reshapes into her own style of comedy.

She also revealed she's selective about what she consumes, watching and reading only what she believes sharpens her creative instincts. Reading books isn't something that comes naturally to her, she admitted, though she's currently working through "Atomic Habits" and hopes to finish it by year-end.

On Quadri, arguably her most recognisable character, Taaooma said the role was never meant to be permanent. It began as a one-time appearance in an advert that resonated far more than expected.

"Quadri was actually a walk-past role. He was never meant to stay. When I did Quadri, I realised people liked the character," she said.

She linked the character's popularity to the rebellious streak associated with young men from Ilorin, Kwara State, calling him someone many people recognise from their own lives.
