Davido joins Kick as streaming platform welcomes Afrobeats star
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced his move to livestreaming platform Kick, which welcomed the Afrobeats star on its official X account on October 10, 2026.
The platform posted, “Welcome to kick @davido,” prompting a response from the singer, who wrote, “Check cleared! Let’s play!”
The announcement followed Davido’s October 9 statement that he would be joining the service. However, neither the singer nor Kick has disclosed the financial terms of the arrangement or confirmed when he will begin livestreaming.
Kick is an online livestreaming platform launched in 2022. It allows creators to broadcast live video, interact with viewers and earn revenue through subscriptions and other monetisation features. Its content ranges from gaming and live conversations to music, entertainment and real-life broadcasts.
The platform has attracted attention in the livestreaming industry through its revenue-sharing model. Under its published policy, eligible creators receive 95 per cent of subscription revenue, while five per cent covers processing fees. Kick also offers a tipping feature that lets viewers send KICKs to creators during livestreams.
The service was established by Australian entrepreneurs Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani, who are also associated with the online betting business Stake. Kick entered the market as an alternative to established livestreaming platforms, including Twitch, with a focus on creator earnings.
The singer, known for songs including “Fall,” “If” and “Unavailable,” has built an international audience through his music releases, collaborations and live performances.
For now, the public exchange between the singer and the platform remains the main confirmation of the development. No details have been released about an exclusive streaming agreement or a guaranteed payment.
