Davido is ending his music hiatus with a declaration. The Afrobeats singer has announced a new single titled "I Know Who I Be," set for release this Friday, June 26. 

The singer unveiled the news via social media, pairing the announcement with the message: "The journey to the throne begins. My next single I Know Who I Be releases Friday, June 26th, 2026."

The track brings in two South African artists, Jazzwrld and GL Ceejay, continuing a pattern of West-Southern African crossover that has been one of the more interesting creative threads running through Afrobeats lately.

The timing carries some weight. In May, Davido had publicly announced he was taking a break from making music. The single arrives as his first solo outing since his fifth studio album 5IVE, released on April 18, 2025, which debuted at number two on the World Album Charts and racked up over 12 million streams on its first day.

The announcement also follows his performance at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles.
