Chude Jideonwo Opens Up on Depression, Faith, and Finding Joy
Media entrepreneur and TV host Chude Jideonwo has shared an emotional account of his battle with depression, revealing that he once questioned, and nearly gave up on, his faith during one of the darkest periods of his life.
Speaking in an interview with Oluwatosin Ajibade of OloriSuperGal Media, Jideonwo discussed his new book, How Depression Saved My Life, offering a candid reflection on his mental health journey and the lessons that emerged from it.
The founder of Joy, Inc. and creator of the popular talk show WithChude explained that his struggle with depression was so severe that he was unaware of how deeply it had affected him.
Addressing a passage in his book in which he described himself as "dying quietly with a smile on his face," Jideonwo clarified that he was not pretending to be happy but simply did not realize the extent of his emotional pain.
Reflecting on his recovery, the media personality said he has come to define joy as a deep and lasting sense of peace that endures despite life's challenges.
"Nothing in this world has the right to take my joy," he declared.
