Chowdeck CEO Says Riders Earn ₦100,000 Weekly
Chowdeck co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Femi Aluko, has said riders on the food delivery platform earn an average of ₦100,000 weekly, with top-performing riders earning significantly more.
Aluko made the disclosure during an appearance on Channels Television’s Business Morning, where he discussed the company’s operations and the earning opportunities available to its delivery riders. He said riders’ earnings are largely determined by the number of deliveries they complete and the distance covered.
“Chowdeck riders earn an average of N100,000 per week while staying fit. The best ones make much higher than that,” Aluko said.
During the interview, the presenter calculated that the weekly figure could amount to about ₦400,000 over four weeks. Aluko confirmed the calculation but noted that riders also have expenses, including the maintenance of their bicycles.
Aluko also said some students work as Chowdeck riders to support themselves financially, including paying their school fees. He added that the earning potential on the platform means some riders can make more than professionals in certain fields, including doctors.
Founded in 2021, Chowdeck has expanded its food delivery operations across Nigeria and Ghana. The company now operates in 11 cities and has more than 20,000 riders serving about 1.5 million customers, with deliveries typically completed in around 30 minutes.
