Chad, Congo remove visa requirements for Nigerians
Nigerians will be able to travel to Chad and the Republic of Congo without visas from January 1, 2027, following announcements by the two African countries.
The move will allow Nigerian passport holders to enter both countries without applying for a visa before travelling.
Chad announced that it would remove visa requirements for citizens of African countries, while the Republic of Congo also announced a similar policy for African nationals.
The changes are expected to make travel between Nigeria and the two countries easier by removing the need for travellers to obtain visas before their trips.
For Nigerians planning to visit either country, the new arrangements will take effect from January 1, 2027.
The development adds to efforts by African countries to make movement across the continent easier by reducing visa restrictions for African travellers.
