Nigerian comedian and streamer Carter Efe has said he does not want to get married, months after his publicised split from Emmanuella, the mother of his daughter.

Carter and Emmanuella’s relationship ended after a troubled period, with Carter saying in January that he had been single for more than a year. 

In a recent interview with British media personality Madame Joyce, Carter reflected on his experience of having his relationship and content career overlap. He recalled having arguments with his partner before filming but still having to appear together for their audience.

“Do you know how many times I will cry? We go fight, fight before we start content, before we even shoot, before we face camera,” he said.

Carter said the experience made him decide to take control of his personal choices rather than allow internet expectations to influence them.

“I am 24 years old. I was born in 2001, but I don’t know why people don’t believe me. I don’t want to get married, and I won’t change my mind with time. I got married to my job. I want to focus on streaming. That is my baby.”
