Afro Nation Portugal 2027 announces Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa as headliners
Davido and Rema are set to return to the Afro Nation Portugal stage as headliners for the festival’s 2027 edition, with Congolese star Fally Ipupa joining them at the top of the bill.
The organisers announced the first set of performers for Afro Nation Portugal 2027 on Wednesday, September 23, confirming the three artists for the festival’s main LIT Stage. The event will take place from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Portugal.
The first announcement also includes Nigerian singers Omah Lay and Victony, alongside Jamaican dancehall acts Shenseea and Valiant, Tanzanian singer Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby and Miimii KDS. French-Congolese singer GIMS has also been announced as a special guest.
The wider Afro Nation Portugal 2027 lineup will cover different sides of African music, with the Piano People Stage bringing together amapiano acts including Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin and Young Stunna. The Afrotronic stage will feature electronic music acts such as Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA. More performers are expected to be added to the lineup.
For Davido, the 2027 festival will add another chapter to his long-running relationship with Afro Nation Portugal. The Nigerian singer performed at the festival’s 2019 debut and returned for the 2022, 2023 and 2025 editions before his latest booking as a 2027 headliner.
Rema will also be making a return to the Portuguese festival after previously headlining its 2024 edition.
Afro Nation Portugal has consistently given Nigerian music a prominent place since its launch in Portimão in 2019. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake and Tems are among the Nigerian artists who have previously taken headline or major performance slots at the festival, while artists including Omah Lay, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold and Victony have also performed there.
The 2027 edition will begin with an opening party on June 8 before the three-day festival, followed by a closing party on June 12 to be hosted at the Praia da Rocha in Portimão.
Tickets for Afro Nation Portugal 2027 are scheduled to enter presale on September 29, with general sales opening on September 30.
